Like countless Biden nominees and appointees, his administration’s de-facto Labor Secretary Julie Su imploded under relatively simple questioning.

In this case, Rep. Lisa McClain repeatedly asked Su if she, as (acting) Labor Secretary, had ever owned a business - and couldn’t get a response no matter how many times she asked.

Watch below:

Su has indeed never owned a business.

Su has never been confirmed to the position of Labor Secretary, and her performance here shines some light on why that is. Unable to get certain nominees through the Senate, Biden has instead opted to indefinitely keep the likes of Su in an indefinite “Acting” position so she can still assume the role and bypass the Senate.

Su has been serving in her position since March of last year, and the so-called Government Accountability Office has allowed Biden to continue doing this. Her original nomination expired at the end of 2023, and Biden renominated her in January of this year.
